A Lismore man was charged after assaulting a stranger on Magelllan Street Lismore on the weekend.
Richmond District Police published details of the incident on its Facbook site yesterday.
“Lismore police will allege that at 3.30pm on Saturday the victim in this matter was seated in his car, having a heated discussion with a person known to him,” the police statement said.
“At this time a 31 year old Lismore man pulled up in his car and threatened to assault the victim.
“The victim had never met the 31 year old before.
“The victim drove away in order to avoid a confrontation.
“The 31 year old followed, driving in an aggressive manner.
“The 31 year old caught up to the victim on Magellan Street where he left his car and punched the victim several times to the head.
“This was witnessed by police who placed the 31 year old under arrest.
“The 31 year old was charged with Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and bail was refused.”
The man was schedules to appear in Lismore Local court.
