Man dies after being trapped by a fallen tree

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner after a man died while working on a property about 20km north of Lismore.


Emergency services were called to the property on Cox Road, at Koonorigan, after the man was found trapped by a fallen tree last night about 7.20pm (Friday 7 August 2020). He died at the scene.


Officers from Richmond Police District have been told the 67-year-old man was clearing trees on the property when the incident occurred.


SafeWork NSW will be notified of the incident.


The man's wife plays for Dunoon United Football Club in Football Far North Coast's women's League 5 side, who play at Alstonville tomorrow. The players will wear black armbands and the Dunoon United side will request a minute's silence prior to the kick off at 12:30pm.
