Man charged, firearms parts seized after search at Nimbin property

Richmond Police have charged a man with an outstanding warrant and have located multiple firearm parts at a property in Nimbin.


Officers attached to Richmond Police District commenced an investigation following reports a man on a Nimbin property was illegally in possession of a firearm.



Police attended the property on Thorburn Street, about 12.15pm Thursday (28 August 2025), and saw a man allegedly running away.


During a search of the area, a 24-year-old man was allegedly found in a bathroom at a home on Silky Oak Drive.



The man was arrested and taken to Lismore Police Station, where he was charged with carry cutting weapon upon apprehension, as well as an outstanding warrant for the offence of drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.


He was refused bail and appeared via AVL in Parramatta Local Court that day, before being further refused bail to appear before Lismore Local Court on Wednesday, 10 September 2025.



Police later executed a search warrant at the Thornburn Street home, where they located and seized firearm parts and ammunition.


Inquiries into these items are continuing.
