A man has been arrested and an investigation has commenced after a woman was found deceased in Mullumbimby.

About 11.55pm (Friday, 19 September 2025), police were called to a unit on Poinciana Street, Mullumbimby, following reports of a domestic incident.

Officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District attended and located a woman deceased inside the unit.

While she is yet to be formally identified, she is believed to be aged in her 20s.

A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Byron Bay Police Station.

Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Inquiries are ongoing.
