Transport for NSW has reported the closure of the M1 Pacific Highway between Chinderah and Ewingsdale (Tweed Coast Road and Ewingsdale Road).

The M1 was closed in both directions at 7:42am due to multiple hazards and weather conditions associated with Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

The advice is to stay away, never drive through floodwater with the exception of emergency service vehicles.

In Lismore, the usual roads have been reported as closed:

• Wyrallah Road at Monaltrie
• Wyrallah Road at Wyrallah
• Brewster Street, Lismore CBD
• Terania Street, North Lismore
• Wilson Street, South Lismore
• Boundary Road, Lindendale
• Bangalow Road between Howards Grass Road (Lismore) and Jarvis Street (Clunes)

In Ballina:

• Boatharbour Road, Boatharbour
• Eltham Road, Teven
• Teven Road and Bruxner Highway and North Teven Road
• Ross Lane at Deadman's Creek, Lennox Head
• Marom Creek Road at Youngman's Creek, Marom Creek

People are reminded to stay indoors and never drive through flood waters.
