Local schools get a summer holiday maintenance blitzLismore High

It is officially the final day of school holidays for public schools across NSW. Students will be back in the classroom from this Monday, February 2.

During the summer holidays, there was a $1,314, 937 maintenance blitz, which has benefitted eight public schools in the Lismore electorate as teachers, students and support staff get ready for Term 1.

The maintenance blitz was welcomed by Lismore MP Janelle Saffin.

Ms Saffin said highlights included a canteen refurbishment at Albert Park Public School in Lismore and a sports court refurbishment at Barkers Vale Public School.

She noted that other planned maintenance was carried out at Lismore Heights Public School and at The Rivers Secondary College – Kadina High Campus and Lismore High Campus.

In the Murwillumbah area, tradies worked on maintenance projects at Chillingham Public School, Dungay Public School and Tyalgum Public School.

The NSW Government is delivering more than $200 million in routine maintenance, minor upgrades and larger refurbishment projects at almost 850 public schools across New South Wales.

Ms Saffin took the opportunity to wish all school communities in the Lismore Electorate the very best for the academic year ahead.
