The Eltham Village Gallery has closed its doors today after being visited by a Covid positive person.

In a post on the gallery's Facebook page, staff wrote that the gallery had been notified that a customer who attended the weekend exhibition had received a positive result from an at-home test.

"This person attended the Gallery on Friday Evening and Monday morning," the post said.

"They are waiting on the results of a PCR test and we are getting tested ourselves.

"We will update on the outcome as soon as possible.

"Of course this means the current exhibition will be closed."

The future of when the gallery and exhibition will reopen remains to be decided, depending on the results of the staff Covid tests.
