The first round of the NRRRL will kick off this weekend with a local derby to open the 2022 season.
The Marist Brothers Rams will host the Northern United Dirawongs at Oakes Oval on Sunday.
The clash will see the two sides run out with very different teams compared to those that finished the 2021 season.
United will field a mix of youth and experience with the likes of Braeden Williams stepping up from U/18's into the starting side at hooker, with the experience of Clarence Kelly and Allan McKenzie to spearhead the attack in the centres.
Coach Chris Binge Snr. will look for more consistency from his side in 2022 after a strong start to the 2021 season finished with the side narrowly missing the semi finals.
The Marist Brothers Rams will be led by new coach Will Bugden, who has put together a new look for the Rams.
The Rams will start with a new centre pairing of young Harry Sivewright and the experienced ex-Dirawong Fred Pitt with Mitchell Krause moving closer to the action at five eighth.
With tryscoring backrower Josh Patston returning to the Tweed Seagulls, Nick Morrissey will don the 12 jersey in a large and mobile pack.
"We have a lot of familiar faces and a few new ones and we are in for an exciting year." Bugden said.
The Ladies League Tag match will see the top two sides from 2021 clash early in the season, in which should be a high quality fixture.
Ladies League Tag will kick off at 12pm, Reserve Grade at 1:15pm and First Grade will commence at 2:45pm.
