Local derby highlights the opening round of the NRRRL

The 2025 NRRRL Draw has been released with Round 1 to kick off on the 5th and 6th of April.

A local derby will open the season for Northern United and Marist Brothers in what is always a spirited clash at Crozier Field.

It will be a great way to start the season for both clubs in front of a big crowd.

In other first round match ups, Casino will host the defending premiers, the Ballina Seagulls and Kyogle will host Lower Clarence.

Brothers will head east in Round 2 for an important match against Ballina, while Northern United will host Kyogle at Crozier.

Fourteen teams will contest the NRRRL First Grade competition in 2025.

Competitions will also be held in Reserve Grade, U/18's, Ladies League Tag and Women's Tackle.

The NRRRL has allocated the weekend of the 10/11 May as the Women in League Round, with three separate rounds to celebrate Naidoc Week and seperate Indigenous Rounds in August.

The Semi Finals have been set for 23/24 August and 30/31 August in a 6 team final series.

The 2025 NRRRL season will conclude with the Grand Final day on 14 September.

A number of local teams have planned pre-season trial games in late February and March in preparation for the season ahead.
