Local derbies highlight Football FNC action

Local Lismore derbies are the highlight of Round 14 in Football Far North Coast action this weekend.



There is plenty of Premier League action across the weekend, with the Men playing several crucial matches leading into the finals.


On Friday night, Richmond Rovers travel to Mullumbimby looking for another win to boost their semifinal chances, with the match starting at 8:00pm in chilly conditions.


The rain is expected to arrive on Saturday for the three scheduled matches, Bangalow host Lennox Head, Ballina travel to Maclean and in the local derby, South Lismore will host the Goonellabah Hornets, with the match set to kick off at 5:00pm.



The Celtics currently sit in fourth position and will be looking to consolidate a spot in the top four with a win. The Hornets have had a tough season to date, with only the one win, however they have been competitive all season and last time the two sides met, it resulted in a 2-0 win the South Lismore.


In a top of the table clash on Sunday, Alstonville will travel to Byron Bay in a clash that could determine the pointscore title.


In Women's Premier League, another local derby highlights this weekend, with South Lismore hosting Richmond Rovers on Friday night at 8:00pm.



Rovers are currently in fifth and Souths in sixth, with the match promising to be a tight one.
