Lizzy’s Used Furniture expands into Gibbo’s building and triples its floor spaceLizzy's has expanded next door in the old Gibbo's building on Wyrallah Road

After losing much of their stock and having to fully renovate their shop after the 2022 flood, Lizzy’s Used Furniture have bounced bag bigger and better than ever. They have recently taken over the expansive Gibbo’s space next door.

The opportunity arose when Gibbo’s moved to Casino and vacated their Wyrallah Road premises in East Lismore and, due to a family connection, Lizzy’s had the option to take it over.

This new space will allow Lizzy’s to not only increase floor stock but also better showcase larger items. Displays will be created, such as a space set up as a bedroom or lounge room, with all items able to be purchased. This will allow shoppers to see how items might look in a home setting, and how they might pair with other items to create a styled look.

“People can see it, and think ‘yeah, that looks good like that, and these items go with it too!’”James, owner of Lizzy’s said. “We want to create this all the way through the store.”

Lizzy’s stocks a wide range of furniture and household goods, including electrical items, to suit all styles and budgets. “There’s something for everyone,” James said, “we always stock a broad range - small, medium and large items, cheap, medium and more expensive.”

You may even discover collectable pieces, such as a uniquely designed and handmade silky oak table setting currently in the store. Many deceased estate bundles come directly to Lizzy’s, including antiques and unusual treasures along with practical items.

“Sets of drawers are our highest selling item, followed by bookcases - we currently have around fifty drawers in stock,” James stated.

James also has plans in the pipeline to create an outdoor space to display garden wares.

As the Lismore community rebuilds their homes and gradually refurnishes them again, the need for affordable homewares is higher than ever. If you are on the hunt for furniture, head in and have a browse at Lizzy’s.
