Lismore's famous residents revealed at local museum talk

So, where have all the famous people from Lismore (like Peter Allen) actually lived?

A talk by the Richmond River Historical Society (RRHS) at Lismore Museum this Sunday will bring light on our little city as the locations of where they once lived are revealed.

RRHS president Robert Smith said in the spirit of the UK's "blue plaques" (local sites of their famous), his talk 'Lismore locations of the later famous' will survey a range of such local sites and all are welcome.

"Lismore's history shows many examples where young people who have lived here have then gone on to national fame," Mr Smith said.

"From Ion. L. Idriess to Peter Allen to Grinspoon, together they make for an inspiring story of the potential of this community."

Mr Smith is also Adjunct Associate Professor at Southern Cross University and co-author (with the late Maurie Ryan) of Histories of Lismore and of Byron Bay.

'Lismore locations of the later famous' will he held at the Lismore Museum on Molesworth Street (next to the public swimming pool) at 2pm on Sunday, March 21.
