Lismore Storm win first basketball road trip to stay topScott Amor, Lismore Storm's surprise packet, nets a basket against Bellinger Valley Braves

With three players starting for the first time and only two off the bench, Lismore Storm went to Coffs Harbour to take on Bellinger Valley Braves in the Sunshine Basketball Conference on Saturday night.

Coach Nathan Darby praised Maddox Parsons, Scott Amor and Jordy Pethers, who all started for the first time and handled the pressure well.

"Maddox is all of 15 or 16 and he got a big rebound at the end of the game that cemented our win. Scott Amor is the surprise packet of the team. I did not know him and he just turned up for training. He can play centre or forward - he is what you call a glue guy and is what we have needed. His rebound tenacity was fabulous. Sixteen-year-old Jordy, once again, played well and was second top scorer with 23 points."

Lismore Storm beat Bellinger Valley Braves 87-82 to win their first match away from home and stretch their winning run to four matches.

Darby said he was pleased with the mixture of young and older players.

"Cam Bosel came off the bench and really stepped up. He is young and athletic and that's what these young guys give to the more experienced and older players. The young players learn off the older guys and it is a good mix," Darby said.

Jacob Leu top scored with 24 points and Scott Amor (11), captain Ben Wilton and Maddox Parsons (both 10) all scored double figures.

Round 6 sees Byron Beez come to Lismore Basketball Stadium for a top of the table clash. Byron Beez beat Lismore Storm on the buzzer in Round One and the Beez are yet to lose a match, but have played one less match than the Storm.

"It will be a great match and I encourage everyone to come and watch," said Darby.
