Lismore Rugby finally get back on the field

The Lismore Rugby Union Club will look to convert recent car park training sessions into points when they travel to Casuarina on Saturday.

With the club unable to train for a number of weeks on their home ground, they have taken to the car parks in Lismore to at least get some ball work and set play training.

Lismore will send all four grades north, with Colts starting at 12pm, Reserve Grade at 1:15pm, Women at 2:30pm and First Grade will look for their first win at 3:15pm.

First Grade Coach Ron Cox has named a young team to take on Casuarina who are coming off a bye last week. The northerners are sitting on 11 competition points and will be looking to cement their spot in the top four.

Captain Cody Johnston will lead a backline that possesses youth and speed, with Fraser Ruane to play fullback, Jack Taylor at 10 and Julian Thompson at outside centre all stepping up from Colts in recent years.

Lismore will only be playing their second game of the season this weekend, in Round 7 after an extremely interrupted start to the year.
