Lismore face the enormous task of defeating Casino on their own ground in the final match of the 2019 Far North Coast Rugby Union season.

Casino scored 81 at Bangalow last Saturday, 40 against Southern Cross University Gold Rats the Saturday before and 43 against Grafton in Round 15 and 45 against Ballina in Round 14.

"We are right up against it," Taylor said. "We will be aiming to minimise the damage and try not to have a ridiculous score against us that will leave a sour taste in the mouth."

Taylor has lost some of his best starting XV and was still trying to find players to fill positions this afternoon.

Junior Representative forward Dylan Tulk has a haematoma while half-back Willie Fairweather broke his hand playing again Ballina on August 6, yet played against Lennox Head last Saturday and even went to training on Tuesday. However, it was so swollen that Fairweather eventually had an x-ray which revealed he had broken a bone in Tahis hand. Hooker Cam Bryant and Ben Carroll also have injuries meaning they cannot make the trip tomorrow.

The Casino match will also see James Grubb play his last match for Lismore.

"It has been good to have James around. He has that bit of experience that is good to have in a team. He has done well," said Taylor.

Taylor also praised Tyler Coveney, who burst into the first XV towards the end of last season.

"Tyler has played every game and he does not have a bad game," he said.

Taylor said the side had improved as the season progressed but the consistency needed only comes from being at training.

"if we were winning every game everyone would be at training, but we are not and that is the problem which will not be solved unless the players give more at training. You cannot suddenly start winning without training," he said.
