The Lismore Regional gallery has been closed since the artworks were evacuated offsite due to the severe weather caused by Tropical Cyclone Alfred and the imminent threat of flooding in the Lismore CBD, which aligned with Lismore City Council's Emergency Management Plan.
Council said that now flood waters have receded, its team has been working on reinstalling exhibitions, carefully unpacking equipment, and setting up the gallery.
"This process takes time to ensure everything is appropriately handled," a council spokesperson said.
"The gallery will remain closed this weekend. We plan to reopen by Friday, 21 March at the latest."
