Pre-poll voting is on par to match recent trends of between 40% and 50% depending on yesterday's and today's results.

To 9am yesterday (Thursday) morning 10,410 pre-poll votes were completed along with 5,477 registered postal votes. Based on simple calculations, this means an average of 3,470 votes per day, so if we include that number for Thursday and Friday the total number of pre-poll votes will be around 17,350 votes plus the 5,477 postal votes making the total number of pre-poll votes 22,827 or a touch under 40%.

That calculation depends on the total register of voters which according to the NSW Electoral Commission is 57,380, down 3.8%.

Of course, the great unknown in this election is how many flood-affected people have left the Lismore electorate. That won't be known until after voting has been counted.

The pre-poll voting booths open at 8:30am this morning and close at 6pm.

The resulting 60% of voters will hit the voting booths through the Lismore electorate from 8am tomorrow (Saturday, March 25) until they close at 6pm when the counting begins.
