Lismore City Council has some good news for East Lismore parents, families and children.

Nine months after being damaged by vandals, Wade Park is set to reopen this afternoon.

The park was closed after play equipment was severely damaged by fire in October last year.

Restoration of the facilities was delayed by an $80,000 insurance claim by Lismore City Council which was eventually successful.

“Thanks for your patience while we went through the lengthy insurance and rebuild process,” the council said.

“Hope you enjoy the new play area!”
