The Lismore Rugby Union Club's Colts and Women's 10's sides have a second chance at a Grand Final spot next week after narrow losses on Saturday.

The Colts Major Semi Final was a tight contest from the outset, with Lismore winger Loui Rubbo scoring after just four minutes.

Lennox Head hit back with two tries to lead 12-5 midway through the first half.

Lismore were unable to capitalise on a weight of possession and territory late in the first half to trail at the break.

Just three minutes into the second half, a break by Jack Taylor resulted in a second try to Rubbo and Lismore had tied it up at 12-12.

Unfortunately with just minutes left in the match, Lennox Head scored close to the posts, which was converted for a 19-12 scoreline, which takes Lennox through to the Grand Final and Lismore will play again next Saturday in the Preliminary Final for a chance to reverse the result.

In the Women's 10's match between Lismore and Casuarina, the northerners got off to a strong start, scoring off a 70m break to lead 5-0 at halftime.

Three minutes into the second half, Lismore were dealt a blow, when strong running Adriana Lisetto was forced off the field with injury.

Casuarina then scored twice in four minutes to blow the scoreline out to 17-0.

Like the Colts, the Women will get a second chance next Saturday for a Grand Final spot.
