Lismore Gemfest cancelled for 2022Part of the 5000 plus strong crowd enjoying Gemfest 2021

The Lismore Gem & Lapidary Club today announced the cancellation of Lismore Gemfest 2022 due to the impact of the natural disaster caused by the one in 500-year flood on February 28.

Lismore Gemfest was scheduled for the weekend of May 14 & 15, 2022.

While the club itself suffered only minor damage in North Lismore at the Showground compared to other local residents and businesses, the ongoing need for community support at the Lismore Showground means holding the event is not reasonable.

Marcus Bebb, Secretary of the Lismore Gem & Lapidary Club said, “After the huge success in welcoming back the public for Lismore Gemfest in 2021 following the impact of COVID-19 in 2020, we are extremely disappointed to cancel this year.”

“Our hearts go out to those that have lost their homes and businesses and to our city that will need time to re-build the heart of Lismore in the CBD.”

“We will be back bigger and better in 2023 to celebrate Lismore Gemfest together once again!”
