Lismore have edged out the SCU Gold Rats in a tight contest at Maurie Ryan Oval on Saturday.

It was the first time to two local sides had clashed since Round 1 and it was always going to be a tight contest.

Both teams started well with just one try separating the two sides at the break, with Lismore leading 17-12.

In the second half, it was Lismore that eventually got the upper hand and ran in two more tries to take the win 29-12.

Damon Caldwell and James Olivieri crossed for the Gold Rats, with Gus Leju staring for the Greens, with 3 tries.

Centre Braeden Williams and backrower Max Smith also scored for the Lismore side.

The Lismore Women's side had a convincing 40-12 win over Casuarina.

Next week the SCU Gold Rats will take on Lennox Head at SCU and Lismore will travel to Casino to play the Bulls in the last round of the regular season.
