Lismore District Cricket mid season review

The Lismore District Cricket and the Northern Rivers Cricket League have a Christmas/New Year break and teams are taking the time to assess the first half of their seasons.



Casino lead the First Grade Competition by 13 points from Goonellabah Workers Sports, Marist Brothers and Norths.


Casino's Connor Turner leads the runs with 294 and Michael German, also from Casino has taken 22 wickets.


The best of the local batsman in the First Grade Competition is Marist Brothers Luke Collings (3rd) with 189 at an average of 31. Goonellabah's Brad Walker sits in fourth place with 165 runs at 41.


The best of the bowlers is Norths Ryan Duyker with 15 wickets at 8 from Charlie Alexander, who has 13 at an average of 9.


Second Grade is led by Kyogle from Lismore Workers, Casino, Evans Head and Marist Brothers.


Kyogle's Courtney Nagas has 250 runs at 62, with the leading local batsman is Craig Hamshaw (3rd) with 204 runs at 40. Evans Head's Ben Nurse is out in front in the bowling stakes, with 16 wickets, five in front of second place.


Norths have the lead in Third Grade from Marist Brothers, Goonellabah and Kyogle.


There have been plenty of runs scored in Third Grade this season so far, with Norths Ari Carr leading with a massive total of 453 at an average 90. There are currently 15 players with totals over 200 in Third Grade.


Marist Brothers Jamie Cottee (av. 11) and Kyogle's Travis Jackson (14) are the leading wicket takers in Third Grade with 16 each.



In Fourth Grade, Eastern Districts lead the pack from GWS, Marist Brothers and Casino.


Goonellabah Workers Sports Cory Drew is out in front of the runs, with 246 at 27, followed by Eastern Districts Brendan Ross with 208.


Marist Brothers Zach Conte has slayed opposition sides with the ball, taking 27 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 9.


Conte's haul includes matches of 5/21, 5/33 and 7/21in Fourth Grade.
