Lismore comes alive for Pride in June

The first day of June, the first day of winter, and the first day of Pride month.

Project Pride Lismore celebrates the second and third week, packed with events, culminating in the Lantern Parade on the 21st that features the rainbow lanterns symbolising hope, pride, unity and diversity.

Project Pride Lismore is an initiative of a grass-roots group of community members, illuminating the community and celebrating diversity. In this, its third year, Project Pride Lismore has events planned for two weeks from the 7th of June to the 21st of June. From an art exhibition, workshops and parties, the events are as colourful and diverse as the community.

“Project Pride Lismore is a community-driven organisation dedicated to promoting creativity, inclusivity, and cultural expression. Through workshops, events, and collaborative projects, Project Pride Lismore aims to illuminate the community and celebrate diversity”, said Alex Jackson, the founding member of Project Pride Lismore.

“It’s so great to be back again this year with more events and participation from the Lismore community. There’s something to suit everyone’s tastes”.
