Lismore Rugby Club will host the Byron Shire Rebels on Saturday at Lismore Rugby Park.

It is the first time the newly formed venture will travel to Lismore and will take on a City side looking for consistency and effort across the field this week.

The Byron Shire club was formed after the Bangalow and Byron Bay clubs amalgamated after both clubs struggled for numbers during the COVID effected seasons.

The Rebels are coming off a 59-7 win over the Casino Bulls and currently sit on top of the FNC Rugby Union First Grade ladder after 5 rounds.

Lismore on the other hand are looking for their first win of the season.

Tate Bailey returns to the side and will pull the Number 2 jersey on, with coach Cody Johnston also bolstering the side, returning at 9.

Youngster Charlie Clarke will play 10, Nathan Goillandeau comes onto the wing and Fraser Ruane will play fullback against Byron Shire

The Lismore U/18 Colts will be looking to reverse a narrow recent loss to Casuarina, when they host the Barbarians on Saturday at 11:30am.

The two sides clashed two weeks ago, with Casuarina taking the match 13-12.

Reserve Grade will kick off at 1:00pm, the Women will follow at 2:20pm, with the First Grade match to commence at 3:15pm.
