The Lismore Chamber of Commerce will be looking for a new President after Sarah Smith announced her resignation last night due to a health issue.
Mrs Smith is also one of the regions most respected business people as Dealer Principal of Lismore Toyota in South Lismore.
Mrs Smith decided to go public to stop the rumour mill speculating about the reasons for her resignation.
In a statement sent to the Lismore App, Mrs Smith said, "After much soul searching I have made the very tough decision to resign from the board of the Lismore Chamber of commerce."
"I have just received the news that I have a large intracranial Tumor that needs urgent intervention so for the next little while I will be focusing on my health and my family. I have a great team of medical experts looking after me so I will be back in action in no time."
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Emma and the board members for the amazing support they have given me and for the great work they do for the business community. I know I am leaving the board in good hands."
"See you all soon."
The Lismore App would like to wish Sarah a speedy recovery during this unforeseen, challenging journey.
The next President of the LCCI will be elected by Board Members at its next meeting.
