Lismore CBD electricity maintenance and traffic interruptions Sunday

As part of Essential Energy’s ongoing commitment to provide safe and reliable power to the Lismore Central Business District (CBD), significant electricity maintenance work has been scheduled across the CBD this Sunday, 16 July 2023, conditions permitting.

The work will involve important maintenance on the overhead and underground electricity networks, along with the replacement of power poles, cross-arms and other supporting infrastructure.

Traffic flow will be affected between the hours of 7am and 4pm throughout the CBD with parts of Magellan and Carrington Streets being fully closed. Traffic control will be in place at Dawson, Molesworth, Woodlark, Keen, Conway and Brunswick Streets.

Operations Manager Ranges, Paul McWilliam said, “To keep the community and Essential Energy crews safe during the work, some road closures will, unfortunately, be necessary.

“Professional traffic management will be in place to assist with traffic flow around the CBD.”

“We are bringing crews in on a Sunday to minimise impacts on the CBD however recommend people allow additional travel time,” Paul added.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience and thank the community for their cooperation and understanding while our crews complete this important electricity maintenance work,” Paul concluded.
