Lismore Art Club exhibition celebrates 61 years of art

The Lismore Art Club is holding its annual birthday exhibition 'CELEBRATING 61 YEARS' at Serpentine Community Gallery, 17a Bridge Street, North Lismore until October 3.

Lismore Art Club Inc. was established in 1960 and their annual exhibition is accredited with being the longest-running annual art exhibition in the region.

Despite the limitations of covid and periodic lockdowns, 2021 is no exception and continues that remarkable unbroken tradition. As such, LAC members certainly have good cause to Celebrate with the September Stay At Home orders being lifted just in time for the exhibition's invitation-only opening night last night.

The exhibition features the latest visual art from known local artists such as Margaret E Brown, Meg Nielsen, Corole Sheppeard, Linnea Hannan and Christine Miller amongst many others, so if you're looking for something to do this week, drop into Serpentine Community Gallery for a browse at some of our regions best artworks.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 10am this morning to Sunday, 3rd October, 7 days a week Monday to Friday 10 to 4. Weekends 10 to 3pm. Admission Free.

But if that's not enough or you can't get out, an online exhibition opened last night. You can view the Serpentine Members Spring Exhibition 'NEW LIFE' through their equally new and exciting online art gallery located at www.serpentine.gallery. New Life is an online-only exhibition featuring works by Lucy Car, Corinne Batt-Rawden, Beau Ravn, Megan Moore, Kuatarina Mount, Joy Hazel and June King.
