Lismore and Seahorses in a nail biter

Lismore and Ballina have played out a nail biter in their FNCRU clash on Saturday at Lismore Rugby Park.

The Greens got off to a flyer with four tries to two in the first half, with front rower Jathan von Bratt, Tyler Coveney, Mitchell Cox, and Angus MacDougall all crossing to give Lismore the best start to a game this season.

Lismore led at the main break 26-12.

The Ballina half time speech seemed to inspire the visitors as they clawed their way back into the match, scoring four tries to one in the second half with the game going down to the final minutes of the match.

After a few tense moments, the Seahorses took the win 36-33.

Outside back Joey Davis finished the match with a personal tally of 13 points after crossing for a try and converting four others.

In the Reserve Grade match, Lismore took a 45-17 victory, the Women's 12's had a narrow 19-17 win over Range and the U/18 Colts went down to Evans Rivers 27-17.

In other First Grade matches, Wollongbar Alstonville defeated Casuarina 43-30 and Casino forfeited to Byron Shire Rebels.

Due to a general Bye for Splendour in the Grass, there are only catch up matches planned for next Saturday.
