Lismore City Council would like to advise Nimbin Rural Water customers that the rural drinking water-supply system has been significantly damaged during the storm.

"We are unable to access the water-supply infrastructure until flood waters recede.

"This means the water supply for rural customers is likely to run out by 6pm tonight (Monday, 1 January 2024)

"Customers are advised to collect and boil water, and to conserve any available water for drinking.

"The Bottled Water Program is scheduled for delivery to rural customers tomorrow (Tuesday, 2 January 2024), dependent upon safe road access.

"Thank you for your assistance as we work to reinstate water supplies as soon as possible."
