The Wyrallah Road detour in place from Monday, February 23 to mid-March. Image: LCCLismore City Council will be temporarily closing Wyrallah Road – just north of Bridge Street in Wyrallah – from Monday 23 February to mid-March, weather permitting.
While undertaking landslip restoration works on Wyrallah Road, investigations revealed further damage at the landslip site, requiring urgent additional slope stabilisation works.
These essential works will remove unstable soil and replace it with rock stabilisation materials. It is essential to ensure safety and reliability of the road.
24-hour works are planned to reopen the road ASAP.
Traffic in both directions will be affected, with a detour in place via Wyrallah Ferry Road, Coraki Road and the Bruxner Highway for those who use the Wyrallah Road route to get to Wyrallah, Coraki or Woodburn.
Wyrallah Road will be open to traffic from East Lismore, up to the landslip site, north of Bridge Street.
Access to adjacent properties will be maintained.
It is recommended that drivers allow additional travel time during the restoration period.
