Highly promising Far North Coast Softball player, 15-year-old Lachlan Coe, has been selected for the NSW Under 16s camp in Sydney in January.

Coe, who plays for Casino in Division One this season and used to also play for Ballina, was asked to play for Sutherland at the Under 16s State Championships in Sydney two weeks ago.

"Lachlan played great at shortstop all weekend," said his mother Deirdre Coe.

"From these championships he has been selected to the Under 16s State Camp to be held from January 12-14 at Blacktown International Sportspark.

"If he impresses further he is in with a chance of selection for the NSW Under 16 squad."

Before then, the Trinity Catholic College student is hoping to be wanted by an association playing in the Under 18 State Championships from December 18 and 19, also at Blacktown International Sportspark. The clubs competing are Georges River, Macarthur, Newcastle, Orange, Penrith City, and Southern Districts.
