La Nina not finished yet as more storms to hit the North Coast

We can expect more rain over the next two days with a high risk of the Bureau of Meteorology releasing a weather warning for Lismore and the North Coast later this afternoon or early this evening.

Stephen Stefanac from the BOM said they have released a warning for the Mid Coast that is now extended to parts of the North Coast to Grafton with a strong possibility of damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall affecting Lismore later in the day.

The Lismore App will monitor the situation and keep you up to date.

Wednesday is looking more of the same with a low pressure trough over Eastern Australia providing typical summer storm conditions. Rainfall is expected to be 30 to 50mm depending on where the storm strikes and its severity.

Thursday will see conditions stabilise with a cooler change coming up the coast bringing temperatures in the mid twenties with more consistent showers and cooler winds.

For now though, it is warm and humid with the risk of thunderstorms (Weather and Weather Radar)

The BOM also released the latest La Nina forecast for the rest of summer this afternoon.

While conditions have peaked in terms of sea surface temperatures, the impact of La Nina will continue to be felt with above average rainfall for eastern Australia through the summer months.
