Kitchen shop moves and opens todayOutside the new Peppertree Kitchen store

You may have seen the sign as you walk down Magellan Street about Peppertree Kitchen moving around the corner.

That move is now complete and the new store opens at 9am this morning in Carrington Street, right before to Cafe Cappello's.

Helen Nott has been in business for twenty eight years with the last fourteen of those in the Magellan Street store.

Just like empty nesters that downsize their homes when the children leave home, Helen has decided to downsize her shop. Amazingly all the stock that was in her Magellan Street store is in the new Carrington Street store.

With Carrington Street being a lesser main thoroughfare was there a concern about less foot traffic with the new store?

"I am right next door to the busiest cafes in town" Helen said referencing Cafe Cappello's.

So, what is happening to the building that Helen is vacating and owns?

"A couple from Sydney have leased the building and will open a restaurant", Helen said. The good news here is that the couple who already own a local carwash business will become locals as they are moving to Lismore.

Staying with the current 'support local business' theme Helen went on to say the restaurant owners are using all local trades and suppliers for their fit-out and signage.

If you are in the CBD and looking at upmarket kitchenware then pop in and say hi in the coming weeks.
