It's Showtime Lismore! Check out what's coming up over the next three days

After working feverishly for the last few days, the stage is set for the 2023 Elders Back Lismore Show. The gates swing open at 9am.

Typically, some rain is associated with the show but the weather gods may be with organisers as the Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting a small 10% chance of rain as yesterday's rain has cleared leaving cloudy conditions and a 23-degree maximum.

Friday is partly cloudy and 26 is forecast for Saturday with cloud clearing and a warm 28 degrees.

All the North Coast National Committee needs now, are the crowds to come through the gate. You can book tickets here.

If you buy your tickets online you will save money with Adult tickets costing $15.95, Concessions $8.60 and a Family ticket costing $31.40 (2 adults and 3 children under 18). Children Under 12 are free. There is a $1 booking fee.

If you buy your tickets at the gate, the cost is Adults $20, Concessions $10 and a Family tickets $40.

Lismore Show organiser Libby Lund-McDonald told the Lismore App the team are really looking forward to a successful three days.

"Everything is ready for this to be a really successful 2023 Elders Back Lismore Show," Libby said.

"We're kicking off with the Community Stage at 10am. We'll have a welcome and lots of school performances with singing, dancing and drama performances. We have primary schools and high schools from as far as Evans Head to Tweed Heads. They will participate in lots of different events, including the agriculture side of things and performance."

Sideshow Alley gets underway at 10am, we will also be kicking off the Shimano fishing show. They're giving away more than $6,000 of prizes over the three days. It's an interactive activity with a semi-trailer full of, I believe, barramundi and the kids get to fish in there and maybe win a prize. There is no taking the fish home unfortunately (laughs), they throw the fish back and take a prize."

"We've also got our reptile show, our petting zoo, TURSA Arts will kick off and the Ashtons Circus performances are at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5:30pm. Then there is the hugely popular TNR Specatcualr in the main arena featuring FMX Motor X, Monster Trucks and Jetpack stunts coming from a big pool in the main arena at 12:30pm and again at 6pm."

As always, there is plenty to keep the kids occupied apart from sideshow alley.

"We've got a new Kids Zone which you will find to the right of the Farmers Markets main gate. We've got Fitness Kids there, so Brad will be doing lots of water activities, fitness activities, and he also has an obstacle course. There'll be face painting and a Chill Zone."

"Beef cattle will be all three days, the woodchop is on Friday and Saturday and each night there will be a Fireworks display. That should start at 8pm on Thursday and 8:45pm on Friday and Saturday. Plus we've got some fantastic live music which includes Jex Lopez & The Wild and Tex Perkins and Matt Walker on Saturday evening and Luke Vassella, Blue Skittle Rovers, Liminal, The Buckley's and The Line Lockers on Saturday. The Buckley's are listed to play at 10pm but they are now at 9pm."

There are two incredible competitions running that you can still enter.

Four lucky children will get to ride in a Monster Truck and Rotorwing is giving three people the chance of a helicopter joyride over Lismore and surrounds on Saturday. To enter and get more details, go to the North Coast National website by clicking here for the Monster Truck and here for the helicopter ride.

You will have two ways to find out what is on each day at this year's show.

In the palm of your hand when you click on the 2023 Lismore Show button on the front page of the Lismore App. Simply click 'What's On at the Show?' You can enlarge the text to make it easier to read. A printed booklet is also available at the gates.

"The official opening is at 5:45 on Friday evening, just before our Community Parade commences," Libby added, "The Back Lismore Community Parade is bigger than ever. This year we have all of our emergency services, we have sporting groups, community groups, not for profits, the newly crowned Young Women and Teen Showgirl will be on a float. So, we will probably have around 200 to 300 people walking and then approximately 30 vehicles including car clubs. One group alone has 70 people walking."

It is time to unwind and enjoy the 2023 Elders Back Lismore Show.
