It is NSW State Election Day 2023 from 8am until 6pm when counting starts and we find out who will be our state representative for the next four years in the Lismore electorate as well as which government will run NSW.
Of course, a result may not be forthcoming tonight, depending on the counting, the result may take days for a result to be known.
The Lismore App asked the main candidates for their thoughts on the week of pre-poll and why you should vote for them today.
ADAM GUISE - THE GREENS
"Prepoll has been a great opportunity to connect with voters and enjoy the final sprint to the finish line.
By electing me, we would send shockwaves through the establishment and kick-start the transformational change we so need.
The Greens have the vision and the solutions to address the current crises. Unlike the Nationals, Liberals and Labor, we are people-powered, and don't take dirty donations from corporations or fossil fuel companies.
Voting for more of the same won't get the change we need. Vote Greens 1 for a safe and liveable climate and a fair future for all."
ALEX RUBIN - THE NATIONALS
As we enter the final day, we are seeing most voters have already made up their minds on the key issues of Flood Mitigation, Recovery, and the Pothole Pandemic.
Right now ‘Lismore is still in Limbo’. Our recovery has stalled, there is no plan and rebuilding our homes and business is futile if it is just going to get washed away in the next flood – the people of Lismore deserve better!
I want to defend this region from the next disaster, which is going to take a decade of hard work.
I care, I want real change, and my promise to you is Accountability, Honesty and Transparency.
JANELLE SAFFIN - LABOR

ALLEN BRAITHWAITE - INDEPENDENT
Pre-polling has been very positive. I get the feeling that Adam Guise can be the beneficiary of preference allocations. Candidates from both major parties the losers.
I brought the regional railway issue i.e. lack of public transport to the forefront through my campaign which was run with a handful of supporters. Major partiers ignore this and spend billions on road repairs caused by heavy trucks. If that money can be spent on reactivating the rail lines it can be good for the less abled people, environment, regional growth and human well being.
Independents are the answer to balance the power of major parties that do not do much for the bush.
