The Lismore App has received some queries as to why there were two Black Hawk helicopters flying around Lismore this afternoon.

It was part of the Army’s outreach program to allow people to get a close up look at the Black Hawks and talk with the pilots.

The event was not widely publicised but a few hundred people, including lots of very excited kids, watched as two army Black Hawk helicopters touched down on Heaps Oval this afternoon.

The crowd turned up after very short notice and the rain stopped just in time.
