Mal Meninga, one of the greatest players to play rugby league and who is the coach of the Australian side, is coming to Lismore.
Meninga, who is inducted in the Australian Rugby League Hall of Fame, is part of a Night with Rugby League Legends at Lismore Workers Club in Keen St, Lismore, on Friday, February 26, from 7pm
The event is in the evening before Lismore City Council host a NRL pre-season trial match between the Gold Coast Titans and New Zealand Warriors at Oakes Oval.
Meninga, who enjoyed a magnificent 17 years career playing rugby league, is Head of Performance and Culture at the Titans. He will be joined on stage by Justin Holbrook, the highly-regarded 45-year-old coach of the Titans, who is a former player himself. Meninga said last year Holbrook will be spoken about as one of the greats of the game by the time his career is over.
Titans CEO Steve Mitchell, the former CEO of Touch Football Australia; Titans Executive Chairman Dennis Watt, and Titans General manager of Football Anthony Laffranchi, who won the NRL Premiership with Wests Tigers in 2005, will also speak.
Comedian Rob Brown will also keep dinner guests amused.
“This will be a great night and we are very excited to have such legendary players to talk about all things football,” Lismore City Council’s Events Coordinator Leanne Clark said.
