UPDATE 7PM

The East Lismore fire reported at 5:41 this afternoon was caused by a car on fire in the northern region of the East Lismore cemetery.

Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control with the mission "routine" said a spokesperson at Lismore Fire and Rescue.

NSW RFS is on scene tidying up the scene.

There have been reports of a fire off Military Road in East Lismore, at the top end of the cemetery.

Photos have been sent to the Lismore App of the fire but no confirmation from official agencies as to the source of the fire.

Police and Lismore Fire and Rescue are in attendance.
