If you don’t already know, KITTEN op shop on Bridge Street in North Lismore has reopened.
Like most op shops in the area, the charity shop has opened with reduced operating hours because of coronavirus restrictions, and has changed the entrance and exits of the shop to keep the traffic flow Covid-safe.
Run by volunteers, Kats in Traumatic Times Emergency Network (KITTEN Rescue Inc.) relies on donations - and rescues, rehouses and rehabilitates cats and dogs.
The shop was opened by Lucinda Dyason, manager of Pets and Saddles on Bridge Street and she and her team rehome on average more than 300 animals each year.
Anyone wishing to rehome a cat or dog can drop into Pets and Saddles and see which animals are in care and needing new homes. All the animals are desexed and wormed.
The shop’s volunteers said they love working in the large space and seeing the variety of items donated to the op shop.
All money raised goes toward KITTEN and they encourage people to come in and browse – just make sure you use the hand sanitiser on your way in.
