Vintage vehicles and rockabilly music star at Men's Shed fundraiser

Lovers of the rock n roll era and vintage vehicles, get ready for the Lismore Men’s Shed Show and Shine fundraiser this Sunday.

Tullera Hall will see cars, motorbikes and caravans rolling in from far and wide for a day of showing off and retro fun - with live music from Rockabilly band, the Linelockers.

Lismore Men and Community Shed president Bob Grieg said it’s only $5 to enter a vehicle in the show, with proceeds going toward establishing the new Men’s Shed at Norco Lane in Lismore.

“The cars will match the rock n roll era,” Bob said. “cars from the 1950s, 1960s and some antiques.

“it’s going to be a great day.”

Bob said he is a lover of motorbikes and a member of Shadow Riders Australia.

“I’ve got a Shadow Rider friend coming down from Brisbane on his Honda Shadow – he might enter it in the show.

The Men’s Shed is also putting on a fundraising BBQ on the day.

“It’ll be bigger than our Bunnings BBQ,” Bob laughed. “We’ll have burgers, sausages and hotdogs and drinks.

“It’s also the same day as the Bathurst races and there will be a TV set up for people to watch the car racing.

“Kyogle Motor Vehicle Club is hosting it and it will be fun.”

The Lismore Men’s Shed Show and Shine will be held at Tullera Hall on Dunoon Road, on Sunday October 13, from 9.30am until 2.30pm.
