Lismore showed plenty of fight in their clash with the Byron Shire Rebels on Saturday, when the club hosted Ladies Day.

The hosts were able to match the Rebels in the first half, trailing by just a try at the break, down 12-7 in a tight 40 minutes.

The second half saw Lismore cross for a second try, however Byron Shire scored three more in the second half to run out 33-14 winners.

Second Rower Sam Gillett and inside centre Jayjay Sheung Fuk scored for Lismore, with Braeden Williams and Kyle Maluta converting both tries.

In other matches on the Saturday, Lismore went down in Reserve Grade 66-0, Colts were defeated by Mullumbimby 17-10 and in a big win, the Lismore Women's 10's side defeated Byron Shire 43-5.

Chloe Sivewright scored 4 tries and Madison Coppola crossed 3 times and added 4 conversions for a personal tally of 23 points.

The win takes the Lismore Women's side to equal first on the ladder, equal with Casino.
