An accident between a bus and a car on Hinterland Way, near Sunnycrest Lane, has caused police to close the road in both directions.

The accident happened around 4pm. Live Traffic is reporting that people are trapped.

Emergency services, Transport for NSW and a helicopter are in attendance.

You are advised to avoid the area and use the M1 Pacific Motorway as an alternative route.

Ongoing police investigations are expected to take some time.
