Campbell Harvey is following his rugby dream.
After trialling impressively for the NSW U/18's, a host of clubs in Sydney approached the 18-year-old with offers.
Strong Shute Shield clubs including Norths, Eastwood and Eastern Districts all held discussions with Harvey before he and his family decided to take a strong offer from Southern Districts, who are based in Sylvania Waters.
It has been an astonishing rise for the youngster after playing rugby league throughout his junior years and only taking up the sport of Rugby Union after he became old enough to play senior rugby for the Byron Bay Rugby Club, a link that he had through his mother Gemma.
"Mum has been the Byron Physio for many years and I have trained with the club for a little while before I was old enough to play grade."
"I played about 10 matches this year for Byron and was the side's leading tryscorer. It was disappointing that we had a reduced season, but at least we got to play."

"Geoff Watt has helped me a lot in progressing me through the process and teaching me the finer details of the sport."
Harvey plays on the wing and has impressed many with his speed, having previously represented at Combined Catholic College's level for Trinity Catholic College and Lismore Little Athletics in sprints and hurdles.
His speed has been described as "electric" by several scouts.

Harvey was also included in a list of the 11 hottest young prospects from the bush that Shute Shield Colts recruiters had their eye on, by one major media outlet.
Many Shute Shield clubs have programs in place for country based athletes to assist with their transition to the big smoke and this is what enticed Harvey to take the offer from Southern Districts.
Harvey will move to Sydney in late January to commence pre-season training at the start of February.
"They have offered me assistance with accommodation and employment and a signing bonus, they seem like a really good club."

"I am excited about the move and learning more, so I will see how it goes. I think they are looking at a full back spot for me but I have to earn the spot."
"I would like to help Southern Districts Colts to a Grand Final and will try to push for selection in the NSW U/19 side as well."

In the meantime, Harvey is working hard earning money before his departure and also has been hitting the gym in preparation for his first year in the Southern Districts Colts program.
