Goonellabah look to bounce back after shock loss

Goonellabah Workers Sports will look to bounce back after a shock 1-wicket loss last week to last-placed Pottsville in LJ Hooker League.

Goonellabah will host Terranora Lakes at Oakes Oval on Saturday, looking to return to form against the fifth-placed northerners.

They will welcome back quality all-rounders Ben Cooper and Kale Hare into the side, with both players taking 3 wickets each the last time they played in Round 11.

The Goonellabah side will be looking for a repeat effort, with both players also strong with the bat in their last hit out.

Blake Perkins and Reece Gallagher are out of the side.

Goonellabah have not lost two matches in a row this season and will look for the trend to continue at Oakes Oval.

On the other hand, Marist Brothers will be looking to break a two game losing streak in their Round 13 match.

Marist Brothers will have a tough encounter when they travel to Dave Burns Field at Banora Point to take on the league leaders, Tweed Banora Colts.

Brothers have made just one change to their lineup for the match, with Luke Collings unavailable and Matt Cleaver coming into the side.

The batsmen will look to turn a number of recent solid starts into decent innings, with seven batsmen reaching double figures last game, but the highest score was just 32.

Goonellabah will be hoping Brothers can cause an upset, to put them back in touch with top spot on the ladder.

All LJ Hooker League matches will commence at 1:00pm.
