Goonellabah Workers Sports are in a commanding position in their two day LJ Hooker League match against Pottsville.
Goonellabah won the toss and sent Pottsville in to bat, and the decision proved to be the correct one.
Goonellabah struck early with Reece Gregor taking the opener before Damien Santin took over, snaring 5/19 off just 9 overs.
Just one Pottsville batsman was able to manage double figures, with Goonellabah bowling the visitors out for just 58 in the 32nd over.
Ryan Kernaghan continued his good from with the ball, taking 3/3 off 4.4 overs, Alec Watson took 1/9 off 5 overs and Gregor finished with 1/11 off 7 overs.
The pitch continued to prove lively, with wickets falling early for GWS as well.
Brad Walker (7) and Nathan Bezrouchko (8) opened the innings, but fell early, and were followed by Brady Tobiello (0) and Kaleb Armstrong (10) shortly after.
Youngster Will Brown (20) managed to settle the innings with Santin (29no) passing the Pottsville total.
At stumps Goonellabah are 5/89 and will look to press on next week for outright points.
Santin and Josh Healy (1no) will resume their innings on Day 2 of the match next week.
