There were several impressive individual performances for Goonellabah Workers Sports in their outright win over Murwillumbah in the LJ Hooker League.
Resuming at 4/43 Murwillumbah needed solid partnerships to make the match a contest and Goonellabah were able to prevent this from happening with several impressive bowling performances.
Reece Gregor tore through the Murwillumbah lower order finishing with the amazing figures of 7/29 off 12 overs. Damien Santin took 2/8 off 2.1 overs and Sam McLean took 1/2 to have the visitors all out for 73 off 33.1 overs.
GWS sent Murwillumbah back in, and it was Sam McLean took charge with the ball taking 5/35 off 14 overs, opener Santin backed up wickets in the first innings with 2/20 in the second.
Gregor took 1/29 and Josh Healy finished with 1/3 off 2.4 overs.
Goonellabah bowled Murwillumbah out for 107 in the second innings, recording and innings and 79 run victory.
The outright win will ensure Goonellabah play semi final cricket again this season, with the final competition round being played on Saturday and Sunday next week.
Goonellabah will travel to Kingsford Smith Oval to take on Tintenbar East Ballina.
