The Marist Brothers Junior Rugby League U/14 and U/16 Girls teams will look to create history this weekend.

Both the U/14 and U/16 sides will contest the Girls Tackle Grand Finals at McKittrick Park in South Grafton on Saturday.

The 2022 season is the first year that Junior Girls have been able to play a full season in a tackle competition. Prior to this year, the only option for the girls was to play in a mixed competition up until U/12's and then transition to Ladies League Tag.

The U/14 side finished second after the regular season and will take on Casino RSM in the decider at 2:30pm.

The U/16 girls had a season to remember, finishing as Minor Premiers and will clash with Clarence Coast at 3:10pm.

Four members of the team were also selected in the U/17's Northern Rivers side that will play at the Lisa Fiaola Development Carnival at the end of the month on the Central Coast.

Coaches John Brown and Chris King are excited to create history for the club and the competition and return home with premierships.
