Tomorrow’s Lismore Eats monthly market has been cancelled and the future of the event is in doubt.
Organiser Jacob Stone said confusion among vendors over the date of this month’s event at the Lismore Showground meant several had to drop out.
“We’ve also got a number of other ongoing issues - some of which involve the council and development applications - which mean I’m having to reassess what I’m doing,” Jacob said.
Jacob started up the popular monthly foodtruck event last year, funding the startup costs such as public liability insurance out of his own pocket.
It has regularly drawn good crowds and featured live music, eating competitions and other entertainment.
However, he said had not yet been able to make a profit.
“I’d just like to thank the community for all the support we’ve received over the past 10 months that we’ve been doing these events and I am looking forward to coming back with a variation of Lismore Eats at some point,” he said.
