Fresh-faced police set to hit the local beat

The Richmond Police District's newly minted police recruits are set to start work next week.

Richmond Police District Superintendent Toby Lindsay and Educational Development Officer Sergeant Craig Norton met the eight new Probationary Constables at the NSW Police Academy ahead of their attestation today.

Crime prevention officer Senior Constable David Henderson said the new recruits included a mix of Northern Rivers locals and new people joining our community.

"One female and seven male attested today and will shortly commence their new careers," Senior Constable Henderson said in a post on the Richmond PD Facebook page.

"Their first day at work will be on Monday when they will start 12 months of field based training and serving their local community."
