Free Lismore Resilient Communities workshops start this weekend

A free, online Lismore Resilient Communities workshop program starts this Saturday, from 10am to 1pm - and you can join.

Facilitated by Lismore locals, Maddy-Rose Braddon and Casey Adam, the seven month program is set to strengthen our communities’ resilience, regeneration and disaster preparedness.

Maddy said the workshops allow communities to generate their own solutions to local and global concerns.

"It will focus on seven key areas, climate resilience, ecosystem and fire, water, food, energy, health, economy and infrastructure," she said.

"This is for any curious and interested community member wanting to have meaningful conversations with like-minded folk, share concerns and visions for a regenerative future as well as see some community-driven action around these topics."

The first - Climate Resilience will be held this Saturday - with a zoom link sent upon registration.

The subsequent workshop dates (all Saturdays) are on 25 September, 23rd October, 20th November, (2022) 29th January, 26th February and 26th March.

Maddy said she hopes they can be held in person in future, if restrictions change.

The workshops are being held in collaboration with Resilient Lismore, Resilient Byron and OzGreen, supported by Northern Rivers Community Foundation, Resilient Communities.
